Just a twenty-something living the dream, trying to check off the bucket list, one entry at a time
“Every 9 seconds in the US, a woman is assaulted or beaten.”
So this post is a little unconventional. But it’s so necessary. A very good friend of mine contacted me and asked if I would blog about a fundraising and awareness effort to end domestic violence. My answer was an immediate and resounding yes. Domestic violence has affected my community, my peers. And if this blog helps even a little bit, then my time has been well spent. The statistic at the top of the page is totally and wholly unacceptable. Domestic violence must be stopped.
Running for Emily to End Domestic Violence is a cause I am more than happy to support. Please check out the campaign’s page for more information here. And, if you’d like to be more educated on statistics regarding domestic violence, check out these resources from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
